It's built for a standard Double mattress. The internal frame measures 140cm wide by 192cm long, matching a standard Australian Double, so choose a Double mattress to suit. The bed is designed to be used with a mattress in place.

No — timber slats are included, so you don't need to buy a separate slat base or ensemble. The slats sit within the frame to support your mattress directly. Just add your chosen mattress on top once the bed is assembled.

Allow for an overall footprint of 180cm wide by 230cm deep, and the upholstered bedhead stands 102.5cm tall. The depth is greater than the mattress alone because of the wavy bedhead, so measure 230cm from front to back and leave room around the sides.
