Life at Home with Jono Fleming: Part II

Once again, Jono has brought our pieces to life with his impeccable styling and magic touch.

This time he's worked that styling magic on our new Alaska dining range and Square living range, seamlessly integrating both into his home.

"These pieces are not only classics you can have in your home for a long time but the use of timber and leather add warmth and personality to a space."

We chat to Jono and pick his brain on how he makes styling a space look so easy...

Alaska is all about smooth and considered details, with its solid oak construction and soft leather or stylish fabric upholstery making for a stunning dining chair.

The ability to mix and match pieces in a dining space is covetable and we love how Jono easily transitions from light grey to black leather, switching up the art and decor to match.

"I love to use art as an anchor for any space but particularly for your dining room. Styling objects, vases, plates and glassware, I like to get inspired by the colours that you can pick up from the art.

This way, you create a cohesive palette, where your table and chairs may be a bit more neutral, you can really make things pop with your styling choices."

Coming in a matching bar stool, the Alaska Dining Chair has upholstery choices to match any style, from laid back and neutral to bold and modern, which is one of the many reasons we love it so much!

"I love a bench seat! This is one of the most versatile pieces of furniture you can own at home."

If you also love a bench seat, then you'll really love the Alaska Leather Bench with its solid oak base and stitching detail on the cushioned, leather seat.

"There are endless options you can use it for as well, from an entry seat to placing it at the end of your bed, and my favourite as I’ve styled it here, at a dining table. It’s one of those timeless pieces that you can also move around the home and use for different applications if the moment calls for it. Definitely a must have!"

As Jono says, a bench seat is such a versatile piece and we love how he's used it as part of the dining seating in this shot!

When asked to pick a favourite from this new range of pieces, Jono couldn't go past the Square Coffee Table.

"I love the form and practicality of the coffee table.

With it’s beautiful timber top, industrial sleek black frame and the leatherette detail underneath, it’s a beautiful, functional piece of furniture that has lots of incredible detail."

Square features a stunning mix of solid oak, metal, and tan leatherette with an inbuilt shelf that is perfect for tucking away your magazines and allowing you to show off your book decor up top.

The Square Side Table is the perfect complement to the coffee table, or even as a functional stand alone piece, styled here with our Kade Table Lamp

We asked Jono about how he deals with matching different shades and materials in his home, particularly timber, something that can seem difficult to get just right...

"There are lots of rules about mixing timbers in the home but my guide is to keep them in a similar tone and shade, you can’t go wrong. Be a bit loose, mix it up, just avoid contrast."

His starting point for building a cohesive space?

"Keep the furniture as your base and build on top of that."

So mix it up, don't be afraid to play with colour, and remember to have fun with your styling!
