We spoke to the French born founder of the brand, Elise Pioch Balzac, on the inspiration behind her pieces and what's next for Maison Balzac...
How would you describe your personal interior style?
I think my interior style is eclectic French, comfortable and welcoming.
What was your main inspiration when first starting Maison Balzac?
My dream was to express my imagination and recreate the objects, and memories of my childhood. I started Maison Balzac out of nostalgia for my happy upbringing in France!
We love your newest pieces, especially The Happy range! Can you tell us about how that collection came together and the inspiration behind it?
The name says it all: it was designed to bring happiness to daily life. We wanted to create objects that bring a smile to your face, just by looking at them. We were just coming out of lockdown and months of rain so someone had to do something to brighten things up! We took on that mission very seriously.
Currently, what is your favourite piece within the range?
I have an unreasonable obsession with the Pomponette Carafe that recently launched. It is the perfect size and the perfect piece of jewellery for the table.
What does the future look like for Maison Balzac?
It is very sunny and warm! We will continue to enchant the everyday with magical objects supercharged with positivity and happiness. And watch out for an exceptional collaboration launching in August this year...
